Retirement hasn’t diminished Garrie’s deep passion for the life and ministry of camp and retreat/conference centers. Previously, Rev. Stevens was appointed for six years as the Conference Council Director (Program Executive) of the North Central New York Conference of the United Methodist Church. He served on the executive committee of the National Conference Council Directors’ Association. He was the District Superintendent of the Ontario District for five years. He is an ordained elder in the Upper New York Conference where he was the pastor of six churches. Garrie served as the North Central New York Conference Vision 2000 team leader. He has consulted with churches in the Ontario District and throughout the conference in strategic planning and building.
Garrie received a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from the University of the State of New York at Binghamton. He also earned a Master’s of Theology from Boston University School of Theology, where he specialized in pastoral care.
